The Buildings Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA) has been awarded a 2016 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence award for programs and improvements that increase energy efficiency.

The EPA designation is the 9th earned by BOMA, which is the only commercial real estate association to have been honored. The Sustained Excellence Award program recognizes organizations that use innovative solutions to cut GHG emissions and increase energy efficiency year after year. A number of BOMA’s initiatives are noted as evidence of the organization’s commitment to energy efficient operations, including the BEEP program, the BOMA 360 performance program, and the BOMA Energy Performance Contracting model (BEPC).

“I’m proud to recognize BOMA International with the highest form of ENERGY STAR recognition, as winner of the 2016 Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence award,” says EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. “BOMA International demonstrates a strong commitment to energy efficiency and preserving a healthy planet for future generations.”
