Help center provides guidance on compliance, use of Portfolio Manager.

A new resource has been created to help building owners and managers in New York City comply with Local Law 84, which requires annual energy and water benchmarking for buildings larger than 50,000 square feet. The NYC Benchmarking Help Center is a joint project between the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, the City College of New York, and the City University of New York (CUNY) Building Performance Lab. The project looks to emulate the success of the original Help Center that was active from 2011-2013 and responded to over 2,000 calls from building professionals.

The program will focus on helping owners and managers who had troubles meeting the benchmark reporting rules in the past as well as providing preparation assistance for facilities that may need to report in the future. The Help Center is free to anyone to use and offers guides to using the EPA’s Portfolio Manager tool as well as strategies for gathering the required energy and water data. Learn more here.
