California City Saves with Sustainability Upgrades

The city of Dublin, California is expected to save nearly $14 million in energy savings over its 25-year long sustainability program.

The city of Dublin, California is expected to save nearly $14 million in energy savings over its 25-year long sustainability program, according to Chevron Energy Solutions.

Upgrades include:

  • The city has installed photovoltaic solar arrays at all of its facilities to offset energy usage.
  • Over 3,000 streetlights have been retrofitted with new LED technology to reduce energy use.
  • Interior and exterior lighting at all city facilities has been upgraded.
  • Improvements have been made to air circulation systems at the Civic Center and Library.

"This project has enabled us to take a significant step forward in achieving our ambitious environmental goals, while at the same time significantly decreasing the city's energy costs," says Mayor Tim Sbranti.
