    Massachusetts is the most energy-efficient state, according to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE).

    The top five more energy-efficient states are:

    1. Massachusetts
    2. California
    3. New York
    4. Oregon
    5. Connecticut

    States needing the most improvement in their energy-efficiency policies (starting with last place) are:

    1. North Dakota
    2. Wyoming
    3. South Dakota
    4. Mississippi
    5. Alaska
