Is your community ready for plug-in electric vehicles? A new tool from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) can help you answer that question.
If you’re responsible for municipal, county, or state buildings, the online Plug-In Electric Vehicle Community Readiness Scorecard provides an interactive way to determine what’s needed to become EV-ready.
The tool will ask you about permitting and inspection for chargers, incentives, education, coordination with utilities, likely EV adoption rates, and infrastructure planning. The result: customized recommendations to raise your community’s score.
