Compare Energy Savings with Free Roof Tool

Web-based calculator compares designs, project specs, and incentives.

Planning a roof project? A new web-based self-service tool will help you mix and match options.

The Cool Roof Energy and Sustainability Tool (CREST) compares multiple roof designs, levels of reflectivity, and thicknesses of insulation and bases its energy savings projections on preloaded utility cost information by ZIP code.

It searches for rebates down to the ZIP code level, allowing you to factor in cost savings from incentives. Peak energy loading projections to model the effectiveness of cool roofing are obtained from two Oak Ridge National Labs calculators.

CREST is a collaboration between manufacturer GAF and technology developer GreenOhm. It is available at cool.gaf.com.
