• Zero-Energy Design Conference a Safe Bet

Las Vegas hosts ASHRAE 2011 Winter Conference and AHR Expo.
    Sept. 30, 2010

Las Vegas – city of 24-hour energy use – will host ASHRAE’s Winter Conference this January 29-February 2. Aptly titled “A Safe Bet: Zero-Energy Design,” the program will explore the importance of balancing design and sustainability.

Continuing education remains at the heart of the conference, with over 200 Professional Development Credits and Continuing Education Units available. 90 programs and 300 speakers will discuss topics such as the real cost of zero-energy design, efficient energy use in new and existing buildings, refrigeration updates, industry trends, and codes and standards.

Certificate programs ranging from healthcare and high performance design to operations and management will also be available. A new certification created this year, Building Energy Assessment Professional, is aimed at energy assessors and auditors. The technical tours will spotlight how technology developed by ASHRAE members is practically applied to buildings, particularly the central plant at Planet Hollywood and MGM Center and Springs Preserve.
