View announces integration with Niagara Framework

June 23, 2023
Customers of the smart building platform’s Secure Edge solution will be able to deploy the application later this summer.

View, a Milpitas, Calif.–based smart building platform and smart window company, recently announced a new offering that will combine its Secure Edge platform for building operations and management with the Niagara Framework by Tridium, a Richmond, Va.–based provider of open infrastructure technology.

“Our combined solution of secure edge infrastructure and flexible building automation provides the ‘building in a box’ our customers have been asking for,” said View chief product officer Nitesh Trikha in a press release. “Our customers can deploy View Secure Edge to any building regardless of existing systems and gain a seamless and consistent way to manage their networks and security, standardize systems like access control with secure tunnels to the cloud, and now standardize building management and automation with Niagara.”

View’s Secure Edge is a plug-and-play solution that enables IT teams to secure building networks and devices, connect buildings to the cloud, and deploy edge applications for real-time processing, insights, and optimizations, according to the release. It supports edge compute and clustering to create a full cloud at the edge, in addition to providing tools for implementing zero-trust network architecture.

The integration of the Niagara Framework for device-to-enterprise applications will add a central console for connecting real-time operational data from different building systems to the people and platforms that manage workflows in smart buildings. The View–Tridium offering adds another application to View’s edge compute marketplace.

View Secure Edge customers will be able to deploy the new Tridium Niagara container application when Niagara 4.13 goes live in August.
