2020: Big Changes at BUILDINGS

Jan. 27, 2020

You may notice some changes in the way BUILDINGS looks in print. Learn more about what you can expect.

A new decade is dawning at BUILDINGS.

You’ll notice in our print edition that we’ve made some changes to how we serve you actionable information. The Energy Manager section is still there, but going forward, it will be joined by four new departments that will highlight how you manage all aspects of your buildings: Exteriors, Interiors, Systems and Resiliency. We want to make sure we’re giving you a good variety in each issue, and we think this new format will deliver.

Online, we’ll keep showcasing our award-winning coverage in the same variety you’re accustomed to.

This issue also sees us reevaluating not just our own coverage, but the industry itself. Both of our in-depth features in the January/February 2020 issue focus on the future.

  • This issue features “The Future of Open Office,” the final installment of our open office series. We’ve looked at the open office concept’s origins and the way different design choices impact the ultimate success of the office. This last article in the series forecasts how occupant health and personalization will dominate open office design decisions in the future.

  • We're also spotlighting “Healthy Dose of Technology,” our look at how state-of-the-art technology has revolutionized the way Humber River Hospital functions. See how sophisticated tech helps the hospital deliver enhanced care to more beds on the same budget and meet the supply delivery robots.

We’re also about to kick off our 2020 trade show coverage, where we’ll showcase the trends and products we find at this year’s conventions. First up: AHR Expo and the International Roofing Expo, both set for the first week of February. Follow us on social media, check out buildings.com or subscribe to our podcasts to stay up to date on all things facilities management this year.
