Snow retention devices prevent dangerous snow and ice movement.

A polycarbonate snow guard attached to a 304-stainless-steel strap can aid snow retention on slate, metal shingle, asphalt shingle, and composite tile roofs, preventing the movement of snow and ice by allowing it to melt completely or drop off in small amounts.

Slots in the pre-assembled device engage roof nails for installation, and rolled tabs hold the snow guard firmly in place on the 18-gauge steel strap. A sturdy aluminum rivet prevents lift out.
