USGBC Opens Nominations for Green Building Curriculum Program

A call for submissions and proposals for the Excellence in Green Building Curriculum Recognition Awards and Incentive Grants Program has been announced by the Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Nominations for the program, which recognizes pre-K through college-level curricula that advance the understanding and application of green building principals, are currently being accepted for educational curricula emphasizing the fundamental importance of reconciling humanity with nature and promoting environmental health, social justice, and economic prosperity.

"By recognizing exemplary academic curricula," says Peter Templeton, senior vice president of education and research at USGBC, "we will be able to share successful approaches to teaching green building lessons to students at all levels and encourage other educators to adopt them."

Awards and grants are available to grades pre-K to 12, community and technical colleges, and colleges and university programs. USGBC will award up to two incentive grants of $20,000 in each category. All submissions are due via e-mail by March 17, 2008.
