BOMA Intl. introduces its “Emerging Leaders in Real Estate” program, developed in collaboration with Harvard University. This new course has been especially created to provide executive level training for BOMA’s members.
Designed for managers and directors in real estate organizations who are - or want to be - on the executive track, the course curriculum will help cultivate the strategic planning and management skills they need to become future senior executives. The program is targeting participants who have at least 5 to 8 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, and is open to professionals working in all disciplines of commercial real estate - property or facilities management, asset management, leasing and brokerage, development, and investment. Because it provides training for a broad spectrum of skills that commercial real estate leaders will need, this course will nicely supplement industry designations such as RPA, FMA, CPM, CCIM, as well as MBA degrees.
Interactive case studies will help participants work through the complexities of understanding and managing corporate financials and market performance, and help them to anticipate and resolve the challenges they will face as leaders - branding their real estate organization, managing across generations, negotiating and conflict resolution, and communicating effectively. The course will be held Oct. 2-7, 2005, on the Harvard University campus in Cambridge, MA. Led by Harvard faculty experienced in teaching other real estate executive education programs offered at the university, the program also features real estate industry leaders, like Rich Greninger, managing director, Carr America, Washington, D.C.; and Kurt Padavano, COO, Advance Realty Group, Bedminster, NJ; and Ray Torto, PhD, CRE, principal & chief strategist, Torto Wheaton Research (the research subsidiary of CB Richard Ellis), Boston. Tuition for the course is $4,500 and includes all instruction and course materials as well as dinner on Sunday evening and lunch on Wednesday and Friday. Travel and lodging costs are not included.
