CEFPI Provides Advice on School Building Performance

March 24, 2005
Missed the symposium? That doesn't mean you have to miss the information.
The Scottdale, AZ-based Council of Educational Facility Planners (CEFPI), which represents more than 3,000 professionals involved in school planning, design, and construction, is dedicated to providing education, professional development, and the dissemination of information. The 3rd Annual High Performance Schools Symposium that took place Feb. 4-5, 2005, provided numerous opportunities for attendees to learn about the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System®, Energy Star, commissioning, and other best practices in sustainability. By posting symposium presentations on the association’s website (www.cefpi.org), CEFPI is making this insightful and instructional information available to the facility maintenance and operations professionals, architects, planners, engineers, K-12 administrators, higher-education professors, construction managers, and others who were not in attendance. Post-symposium presentations including “Acoustical Design Criteria for Schools: What They Are and What’s New,” “Commissioning Schools,” and “Green Roofing Fundamentals” provide essential information to aid building professionals in their goal toward creating, maintaining, and operating high-performance educational facilities. To view the post-symposium presentations from CEFPI’s 3rd Annual High Performance Schools Symposium, visit (www.cefpi.org/green2005/presentations.html) or contact the association by calling (480) 391-0840.
