E-learning Center Provides a Blended-learning Environment For Implementation Success and Lasting Focus On Best Practices
FOLSOM, Calif. (April 19, 2004) — Meridian Project Systems (MPS), provider of leading-edge enterprise software solutions for the real estate, construction and facility lifecycle, announces MPS University, a comprehensive set of product education solutions, and launches the Proliance e-Learning center, a flexible, on-demand learning environment.

Within MPS University, Meridian has created a variety of courses and delivery methods designed to educate staff quickly and cost effectively. MPS University incorporates both standard and custom classroom training, online getting started demonstrations and the e-Learning Center.

On-the-job results follow two important elements, successful initial training and maximum retention of educational material. Prime Learning, a business and professional skill training organization, has found that “after 28 days, 81% of what was learned is forgotten if it isn’t used.”

The e-Learning Center provides continuous education with content expanded for new solution functionality and corporate standards. The e-Learning Center allows users to learn at their own pace and revisit information to stay productive and focused on best practices sharing.

Recognizing the value of convenient, cost-effective and participant-centered product education, Meridian developed the e-Learning Center to allow Meridian's global clients to quickly deploy training solutions to thousands of geographically dispersed employees simultaneously. Rapid and thorough deployment enables early return on investment and realization of business value from technology.

Using a blended-learning approach combining Self-Paced Online, Live Online via Webex and Live Classroom education, the e-Learning Center engages users in a curriculum that is role-based and designed to fit their learning styles. Self-Paced Online education allows users maximum flexibility in scheduling, while still providing guidance from a virtual trainer. Online Instructor-led courses provide both convenience and cost-savings, while still providing a live instructor and the opportunity to ask questions of a Meridian expert.

"The e-Learning Center provides team members a place to learn, reference, and get hands-on experience," said Sallie Sutter, Meridian vice president of client support and service. "This coupled with Proliance's deep business process management functionality provides our global customers a truly unique and comprehensive solution for global businesses within the real estate, construction and facility industries."
