Friday, March 26Design for Transparency: Security Integration in Public Spaces How does the designer integrate the security measures so necessary in today’s world into the built environment? We are seeing the negative psychological impact of obtrusive security measures as a constant reminder of impending danger. This course addresses the issue of passive security design measures in the space planning stages of a project, as well as the integration of screening and surveillance technologies required in public spaces. Furnishing for Healing: How Furnishings Can Further the Healing Process This presentation will explore the many ways in which specific product features can enhance, supplement, and support the many activities and processes that are everyday parts in the healthcare facility experience.
