HLW and Sciame Complete Major Post 9-11 Lower Manhattan Revitalization Project

New York City-based HLW, a leading 118-year old architecture, engineering and consulting firm, announced today that it has completed the design and build of the new Millennium High School, one of the first components of Governor George Pataki's plan for the revitalization of post 9-11 downtown Manhattan. As part of the plan, HLW was commissioned to provide services including design/build, interior architecture, engineering & lighting design.  F.J. Sciame Construction Co., Inc., New York City, performed Construction Management services for the school's 100,000 square-foot new home at 75 Broad Street.

Working under the constraints of a 6-week design schedule and an 8-week construction schedule for the first phase of the project, HLW partnered with Sciame to build a new entrance lobby and 13th floor.  This first phase accommodates 250 ninth and tenth graders for Fall 2003. The second phase of the project will be the design and construction of the remaining facilities for the entering classes of 2004.
