The HON Co. Launches the Unexpected with New Perpetual Line

MUSCATINE, Iowa - The HON Co., long known for high-quality office furniture, has again taken a step out of the box with its new Perpetual line of furniture, introduced at NeoCon® 2003.  The new line is an extension of The HON Co.’s award-winning Perpetual chair, introduced at NeoCon last year. The chair won the 2002 GOOD DESIGN® award sponsored by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, and Best of Show® award from the Design Journal at NeoCon 2002.The new Perpetual line incorporates the same lightness of scale and open architectural style as the award-winning Perpetual chair, and is designed for ultimate flexibility and functionality.“The Perpetual line brings an exciting new solution to American workplaces,” said Dave Burdakin, president, The HON Co. “Our goal with Perpetual was to create a line of stylish furniture that could be used in every facet of your business - from private offices to the break room.”The full Perpetual line includes more than two dozen worktops, tables, seating, storage options, and both freestanding and desk-mounted panels, all designed with exposed structural parts, translucent plastic panels, and light-colored laminates. Perpetual is designed to be easily moved and reconfigured to meet the ever-changing needs of today’s office environments. All the worksurfaces, executive desks, screens, pedestals, and round and square tables share the same distinctive, angular leg design, which takes on different forms depending on how the components are joined. Perpetual furniture is available in traditional laminate or thermoformed worksurfaces in a variety of colors, including natural maple and bourbon cherry. Metal surfaces are painted a clean, crisp color that the company calls white aluminum. Coordinated pulls, corrugated translucent panels, an adjustable paper management system, and multiple storage options fill out the Perpetual line.The HON Co. has expanded its Perpetual seating options with a new stool and guest chairs, designed to complement the award-winning Perpetual chair. Like the original, both the stool and the guest chairs are outfitted with 60mm-wide casters for effortless movement. Seating is available in a wide variety of fabrics with either black or titanium frames.All Perpetual seating features passive ergonomic design, contoured seat and back cushions of high-density foam, and independently flexing backs and seats that automatically respond to the user for maximum comfort.
