Duro-Last Roofing Founder Passes Away

Management at Saginaw, MI-based Duro-Last Roofing announced the death of company founder, John R. Burt, on Friday, April 11, 2003. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 17.Noted as a kind and adventurous man who enjoyed life to the fullest, Burt founded Duro-Last Roofing and its affiliated companies, and considered his employees and colleagues as part of his family. He was honored with many awards and accolades, including Business Person of the Year in 1987, presented by Governor Blanchard, as well as Michigan Entrepreneur of the Year in 1991. Together, Burt and his wife, Mildred, raised five children.Charitable donations may be made to the John R. Burt and Mildred B.
