Breakthrough Advances in Command and Control Integration Will Enable Enterprises Worldwide to Combine All Security Functions
LAS VEGAS -- March 25, 2003 -- GE Interlogix, CASI Division, today announced the availability of Facility Commander(tm), a new command and control integration platform. The product represents the next generation in security products and is designed to bring the benefits of open systems to the security industry. Facility Commander will ultimately allow enterprises worldwide to combine all security functions, including access control, digital video, intrusion and fire detection, building management, and human resources functionality, into a single user interface."Our customers depend on the reliability of our security management services to help run their businesses," said David Paratore, founder and CEO of SMS. "13 years ago we standardized on the GE Interlogix, CASI products for our monitoring station where we support over 20,000 customers. The advent of Facility Commander has dramatically improved our security management business by automatically compiling our video, access control and alarm monitoring data so that we can minimize human interaction, while maximizing data accessibility and distribution. Now we handle more customers efficiently, and ultimately save time and money while dramatically increasing the level of security for our customers."Facility Commander provides a comprehensive alarm management system with graphical maps and video clips and a high-level command and control interface to Digital Video Recorders (DVRs). For access control, Facility Commander interfaces with GE Interlogix Picture Perfect(tm), which performs all access control, alarming and reporting tasks. Traditional electronic security gathering systems can now simultaneously send critical real-time data into a system capable of instantaneously processing it with live video for a proactive response. This security integration platform is a central focal point for information from diverse security technologies from a variety of vendors. In addition, the Alarm and Event Viewer functions collect events across multiple Picture Perfect implementations. The product incorporates sophisticated time zone support."Post-9/11 placed more stringent security initiatives by the FBI, and Homeland Security agencies to better secure our cities' critical infrastructure, operations and personnel," said Pam Miles Ray, Corporate Security Manager for Austin Energy, a municipally owned electric utility. "The integration ability inherent to the CASI system provided a option for enhancing existing technology, while adding proactive tools to allow us to prevent, respond and investigate security breaches".The product's open architecture allows for easy integration with additional related security technologies such as intrusion, fire, building management, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), human resource databases and others.  To support these efforts, GE Interlogix, CASI Division, has created a developers program that enables third parties to write their own drivers. The program includes a software developer's kit (SDK), a published application programming interface (API), sample code, system simulators and full documentation.  Facility Commander has support from multiple GE businesses, such as the Kalatel Division, as well as industry leaders including Panasonic Security Systems, Nice Systems, Integral Technologies, Loronix and others."Our goal is to put the power in the hands of enterprise customers to create the best, integrated security systems on the market," said Juan Cabezas, president of GE Interlogix, CASI Division.  "It is exciting to see the number of vendors working with us to integrate digital video platforms, such as Caliber(tm) and Intellex(r), to create this integrated framework for the industry."For more information on the developer program please contact Ron Fiedler at [email protected].About GE Interlogix, CASI Division GE Interlogix, CASI Division, is the leading provider of access control and integrated security management systems to enterprises worldwide.
