Bethesda, MD - - The NECA/IBEW Conference at the 2003 VDV/Integrated Building Systems Conference & Expo (formerly the VDV Expo) is now open to all attendees. The event is jointly sponsored by the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and provides a working forum for key leaders of labor and management to discuss voice-data-video (VDV) and integrated building systems (IBS) industry issues and directions for success in the future. The Conference & Expo will be held March 10-12, 2003 at the Las Vegas Hilton. In past years, the NECA/IBEW Conference has only been open to NECA Contractors, Employees of NECA contractors, IBEW-signatory contractors and IBEW members. The goal for this year's event is to make end-users aware of NECA /IBEW training efforts, specifically in technical and management aspects. Educational sessions to take place during the event will cover fiber optics, copper cabling, home networking, LonWorks, and Power Quality. Private general sessions will also be held for NECA/IBEW only, covering topics such as legislative update and licensing. "This year's agenda is trying to incorporate all levels in this growing market. The presentations will be targeting important areas and issues. Not only from a users standpoint but also an exhibitor standpoint as well," said Steve Schultz. "The classes are tailored both to those entering the VDV and integrated systems business, and experienced professionals looking for more in-depth education. The goal is to have everyone focused and traveling in the same direction."
