    World’s Most Comprehensive Security Event Showcases Cutting-edge Products

    Nearly 16,000 Security Experts From Private Industry and Government Attend
    Alexandria, VA (Sept. 3, 2002)— The ASIS International 48th Annual Seminar & Exhibits — the most comprehensive educational and networking event in the security industry — begins on Sept. 10 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The Seminar is specifically designed for, and by, security professionals.This is the largest exhibit ASIS has ever staged. An impressive array of 1,960 booth spaces occupied by 725 companies will feature the newest, most innovative technologies, products and services available from the world’s leading security services and equipment providers—from secure ID solutions to Web-based background screening; from covert video systems to armored vehicles, and everything in between. In addition, the ASIS Seminar & Exhibits will include security-oriented tours of Sunoco Headquarters on Sept. 9, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.On Sept. 11, Gen. Barry R. McCaffrey, the keynote speaker, will address what happened a year ago to the day in a speech entitled, “Looking Back to September 11.”  On Fri., Sept. 13, a panel of security experts will convene to assess the future of security and the challenges ahead.  Appearing will be representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Security Agency, the U.S. Department of State, the Soviet Union’s biological weapons program, and Steven Emerson, the award-winning author of American Jihad, The Terrorists Living Among Us.
