Bastrop, Texas-Designed Security, Inc. (DSI) announces the ES4200 Door Management Alarm, a new state-of-the-art system that integrates all major door management functions. The ES4200 provides complete monitoring of access control points by providing door prop/door held and intrusion/door forced detection. It can be used as a stand-alone product or in conjunction with any major access control system, including card readers and electronic locks.

The ES4200 combines the best features and functions of DSI's door prop and exit alarm product lines into one easy-to-use master unit. One distinct feature is the door prop function, utilizing two monitoring periods, the "Silent Time" and the "Alarm Delay Time."
The silent time begins when the monitored door is opened. If the door is closed within the silent time period (0 to 90 seconds), the ES4200 remains silent. However, if the door remains open longer than the silent period, the alarm delay time period begins and the local sounder emits an intermittent audible alarm. Failure to close the door within the alarm delay time period results in a continuous audible alarm and activation of the alarm contact. The alarm will continue until manually reset or until reset by the auto reset feature.
The intrusion/door forced and exit alarm functions recognize an intrusion violation when the secured door is forced open. The DMA responds by activating the alarm contact and sounding the audible alarm continuously until reset.
The most common applications for the system include entry doors, emergency exits, dormitory exit doors, computer rooms, file vaults, and internal warehouse doors. The ES4200 is an enhanced version of the ES420 Door Management Alarm, the first product developed by DSI in 1982. The original ES420 models are currently available by special order only.
