Todd Bluedorn to lead North America Commercial; Residential businesses report to Darnis

FARMINGTON, Conn., Dec. 5 - Carrier Corporation, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX), today announced the appointment of Todd Bluedorn as president, North America Commercial. Bluedorn will be based here and will lead the commercial applied, commercial unitary and airside businesses.


Bluedorn rejoins Carrier from sister division Hamilton Sundstrand, where he was president, industrial. He began his career at UTC in 1995 as director, strategic planning. From there he moved to Carrier Transicold in 1996, where he served as vice president, North America truck and trailer. In 1999 Bluedorn was appointed vice president, South East Asia for Carrier.


In making the announcement, Carrier President Geraud Darnis said, "Todd's operational and strategic experience and focus, coupled with his leadership and analytical skills, make him well suited for this assignment.


Bluedorn replaces John Malloy, who left Carrier to pursue other interests. Darnis also announced that Carrier's three residential business units - cooling, heating and International Comfort Products (ICP) - will report directly to him.


Carrier Corporation is the world's largest manufacturer of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment. It is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation, provider of a broad range of high-technology products and support services to the aerospace and building systems industries.
