"The hotel industry is serious about setting these standards. APEX is the closest we've ever come to setting them," says Dave Scypinski, senior vice president of industry relations for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. "Yes, there are things like contracts that are harder to standardize, but we are trying to find a set of best practices overall. There's no reason for any hotel company to not be on board. If they aren't, shame on them."
