IoT lighting company Silvair closes $12M Series A round to disrupt commercial smart lighting market

San Francisco -- Silvair, a pioneer in Bluetooth-based smart lighting technologies for commercial applications, today announced that it has completed a $12 million Series A round of funding. The new investment will enable the company to commercialize its end-to-end smart lighting platform, as well as to grow its marketing and customer support capabilities internationally.

The round was led by the investment fund company Trigon TFI, with Digital Garage, CyberAgent Ventures, New Europe Ventures and several of the company’s original angel investors also participating. Trigon TFI is Poland’s most dynamically growing asset manager, employing the highest number of fund managers and equity analysts across the Polish investment universe. It has recently been awarded the title of ‘2016 Top Fund of the Year - Domestic’ by the CEE Capital Markets summit.

Silvair is developing the world’s first fully scalable smart lighting platform. The platform is currently using a wireless communication protocol based on Bluetooth Smart, but can be updated over-the-air to Bluetooth Mesh as soon as the standard is adopted by the Bluetooth SIG.
