SL Base, part of MuleHide’s silicone roof coating system, is a silicone surface-leveling coating that helps restore rough, uneven roofs. It’s formulated to be more free-flowing than the finish coating, which allows it to migrate to the low parts of the roof and fill cracks and crevices to set the stage for the finish coat.
It’s primarily designed for use on gravel built-up (BUR) roofs, but can also be used on “alligatored” areas of smooth-surface BUR roofs, as well as granulized modified bitumen roofs and concrete roofs. The one-part, ready-to-use material is applied using a heavy-duty airless sprayer or a roller. Afterward, the roof is ready for the 100% Silicone Roof Coating finish coat, which will result in a smooth, durable, waterproof, and weathertight roof.
