Gain smart building intelligence from industry leaders at Smart Connect 2023

The free, one-day event on Nov. 8 will feature an insightful keynote presentation and a series of educational webinars and sessions.

On Nov. 8, Smart Buildings Technology will be hosting its third annual Smart Connect, a virtual, one-day summit of education and interactive webinars featuring industry experts and thought leaders across the architecture, engineering, construction, and ownership and operations sector.

SBT Chief Content Director Robert Nieminen will be acting as emcee of the event, which will feature five information-packed sessions (60 minutes each). During the presentations, audience members will be able to pose questions to the presenters, who will answer as many possible within the allotted time.

Smart Connect will open with a keynote presentation from Steve Yapsuga,  founder of WorkForceG, Corporate and Services Advisory, who will discuss the changing needs of today's economy that has impacted today's tenant, the dynamic change of the commercial building environment, and how Technology Infrastructure is here to save the workforce. This year’s line up also includes industry experts from Panduit, Trane, ABB, and Dormakaba.

10–11 a.m. Opening keynote presentation featuring Steve Yapsuga of Capital Telecom Services on the smart building initiatives and technologies influencing CRE in 2024 and beyond.

11 a.m.–12 p.m. Advancing the Future: The Development of Fault-Managed Power and its Influence on the Evolution of Smart Buildings, presented by Mahmoud Ibrahim and Frank Straka of Panduit, Ken McKinney with UL Solutions, and Andrew Lu with Cisco – Enterprise Networking Business Unit.

12:30–1 p.m. How Data Unlocks Your Building’s Potential and Secures a Resilient Future, presented by Kristy Shomaker, Kurt Barret, and Neil Alexander of Trane.
