Grand Prize Winner in Environmental Solutions: Capistrano Lounge Chair by JANUS et Cie

Oct. 5, 2006

The Capistrano Lounge Chair is part of the JANUSwood collection, an environmentally friendly and innovative new line of tables, seating, and benches made from 100-percent recycled, purified, high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Well-suited for indoor and outdoor use, the Capistrano is available in several colors, including black, green, mahogany, sand, teak, and white. JANUSwood is a specially extruded “lumber” made from environmentally purified post-consumer plastic milk containers. This unique material does not absorb moisture; therefore, it is resistant to paint, graffiti, and the growth of micro-organisms. Integrally colored and UV-stabilized, JANUSwood is extremely durable and will not warp, splinter, crack, or fade, making it virtually maintenance-free.
