Smart Building Certification (Amsterdam, Netherlands), a certifying organization dedicated to creating smarter, more efficient buildings, on Sept. 23 announced that Eagle Eye Networks, a global expert in cloud video surveillance technology, and Brivo, a global specialist in cloud-based access control implementation, are the first physical security companies to go through the organization's Smart Solution Certification.
SBC says the partnership affirms the idea that smart security—namely cloud video surveillance and access control technologies—are pillars of comprehensive smart building technology deployments. According to an official statement, the Smart Building Certification, Eagle Eye Networks and Brivo alliance will focus on:
- Sharing safety, security, and access control knowledge with the SBC ecosystem.
- Educating the market about how “security” technologies used for multiple applications can provide important data and trends to increase building efficiency and sustainability.
- Supporting market follow-through and data-driven transformations in the built environment.
Eagle Eye’s cloud video surveillance platform uses artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics to enable security cameras to become the primary sensor in a building that can literally measure the pulse of the building and create alerts when needed, providing essential data to optimize the energy efficiency, security, and sustainability of buildings.
The partners note the power of this system increases exponentially when integrated with Brivo’s cloud-based access control platform. Brivo adds a comprehensive product suite that includes smart readers, touchless mobile credentials, visitor management, occupancy monitoring, health and safety features, and integrated video surveillance, smart locks, and intercoms.
Eagle Eye Networks and Brivo together provide an AI-powered access control and video management integration that uses machine learning technology to detect the presence of people within an access-indexed video stream providing better insights with less manual effort.
